Job summary

PACS is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper at our El Cajon facility to maintain clean, safe, and orderly public areas and resident rooms for residents, staff, and visitors.

The position offers $17.00 to $18.50 per hour, no supervisory duties, and requires following safety protocols, proper use of cleaning equipment, and strong attention to detail.

High school diploma preferred; healthcare or long-term care housekeeping experience is a plus; good communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
