Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife in Ohio is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain lawns, gardens, shrubs, and trees across the main campus. This role also supports snow removal and acts as a driver during peak travel periods.

The job offers a full-time schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with some weekend work, and pay starting at $16.00 per hour, increasing with experience. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, litter removal, planting, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience: One to five years in grounds maintenance or related work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass using hand-propelled or riding lawn mowers.
• Trims shrubbery and trees under supervision.
• Removes litter from campus grounds, roadways, and parking lots.
• Plants, transplants, prunes, and fertilizes flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Assists in maintaining roadways sidewalks, and parking lots.
• Removes leaves from gutters, and rakes leaves as necessary.
• Removes snow using power equipment, such as plows, snow blowers, or rotating brushes, or manually with shovels.
• Spreads salt using automatic spreaders or manually.
• Provides routine maintenance on lawn care equipment, i.e. check oil levels, sharpen blades, change spark plugs, and mix gas and oil as required.
