Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts is seeking a hotel maintenance professional at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh. This role involves servicing and maintaining all hotel mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building components.

You will also paint, repair furniture, and participate in ongoing training to ensure guest comfort and safety. Flexibility is required to cover nights, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities for career growth within Marcus Hotels & Resorts'

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a hotel engineer or similar maintenance role at an apartment complex or office building.
• Flexible schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment, systems and building components including mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks and fixtures.
• Build, repair, and paint all parts of the hotel; install/replace lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs; inspect machinery and equipment; detect malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
• Repair and maintain the structure; fabricate and repair furniture and fixtures; attend training and meetings.

What will you be doing?

• Nights and Weekends are required*

Responsibilities include maintaining all equipment, systems and building components including, but not limited to; mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment.

• Build, repairs, and paints all parts of the hotel.
• Install and replaces lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
• Fabricate and repairs furniture and fixtures.
• Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
• Paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas when necessary.
• Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist in delivering and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on projects as assigned.
• Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
