Austin Motel, part of Bunkhouse, is seeking a Front Desk Agent to greet guests, manage check-ins/outs, take reservations and provide concierge services in a busy boutique setting. This role requires proactive communication, problem solving, and a welcoming, helpful demeanor.
You will handle guest requests, maintain accurate logs, balance shift cash, and coordinate with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction while upholding brand standards and safety policies.
The Opportunity: A Front Desk Agent will exceed the expectations of all Bunkhouse guests in a multitude of tasks that include, but are not limited to, telephone operations, checking guests in and out, taking reservations, inventory control and concierge services. The concierge services may include the following: transportation, dining reservations, floral requests, amenity requests, grocery shopping, tee times, spa services, hiking, children’s programs, babysitting, water recreation, tennis, golf instruction, biking, goods offered (i.e. beverages, VIP packages, in-room amenities), special events and other areas as needed.
The person in this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. All Bunkhouse employees are expected to greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome. Furthermore, they must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye.
The historic Austin Motel sits just south of the Colorado River and Downtown, in view of the State Capitol and walking distance to the famous bat bridge. Part of the beloved South Congress neighborhood, the motel is surrounded by some of the city’s most interesting dining, nightlife and shopping, with easy access to bus lines and Austin’s lovely hike and bike trail that connects to Zilker Park, Barton Springs Pool and the Barton Creek greenbelt.

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position.
