Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Food Service Assistant for the school term (Full Time, 10 months). The role runs Monday through Friday from 6:15 AM to 1:15 PM, supporting school meals with food service, cashiering, dishwashing, and trash removal, while maintaining a positive attitude.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license; must thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well in a team with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide great customer service at all times.
• Set up the serving line, assemble proper serving utensils, maintain accurate temperature logs, clean up between serving times.

• Assist with food preparation.
• Perform cashiering duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Utilize proper food safety standards at all times.
• Wash and/or sweep floors and perform end-of-day cleanup.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Leader/Manager.

Food Service Assistants are responsible for many tasks related to the service of school meals including, but not limited to, food preparation and service, cashiering, dishwashing, and trash removal. The Food Service Assistant is expected to complete all tasks efficiently and with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Provide great customer service at all times.
• Set up the serving line, assemble proper serving utensils, maintain accurate temperature logs, clean up between serving times.
• Serve students utilizing proper portion control.
• Assist with food preparation.
• Perform cashiering duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Utilize proper food safety standards at all times.
• Wash and/or sweep floors and perform end-of-day cleanup.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Leader/Manager.

The individual works with other members of the Department/Building in meeting goals and objectives in support of the District mission to provide a social and educational environment for the students.

Requirements:

Salary depends upon position and experience. Minimum starting rate $15.45/hour.
