Job summary

Harris Teeter in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Floral Department supervisor to oversee processing, stocking, and display of floral products. You will supervise up to 10 associates, ensure quality and safety standards, and support customer service initiatives at store 310 Goose Creek Village.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to training teams while maintaining efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Designs and fashions live, cut, dried, and artificial floral and foliage arrangements for events such as holidays, anniversaries, weddings, parties, and funerals. Responsible for processing/packaging/stocking/maintaining floral products according to standards, cleaning work areas,

providing customer service unloading stock, and reloading salvage. Manage and supervise up to 10 associates in the Floral Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Harris Teeter's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; assist in appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos [in English]. Ability to write simple correspondence [in English]. Ability to effectively present information in oneon- one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization who only speak English.

COMPUTER SKILLS. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of HT Internet software; E-mail; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.

REASONING ABILITY. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Compensation

• Pay Transparency: Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $21.00/hour and $30.00/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets of the applicant.

You will be eligible for Harris Teeter’s group benefit plans that pertain to your position upon the completion of applicable waiting periods. Your eligibility for these benefits is subject to the terms of the applicable plan and Harris Teeter policy.
