Full-Time Float Teller - Somerset County (Maintenance)

Summary

The employee will accurately and efficiently perform in a professional environment, serving as the face of Somerset Trust Company to our branch customers. Responsibilities include providing personable, quick service, executing regular procedures, and handling a variety of customer requests and transactions. The employee must communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and resolve issues as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Greet customers with a smile.
  • Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and examine checks for endorsements.
  • Cash checks and pay out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
  • Accept loan and credit card payments.
  • Record transactions in the core system and provide receipts to customers.
  • Balance currency, coin, and checks at the end of shifts and compare totals with data on the core system.
  • Identify opportunities to explain, promote, or sell financial products or services.
  • Process additional transactions, including night depository transactions.
  • Resolve customer issues and provide assistance as needed.
  • Support all BSA/AML responsibilities applicable to the position, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Travel to assigned branches as needed to meet branch requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures and security instructions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new technology and ideas.

Physical Demands

Regularly sit, operate office equipment, talk, and hear. Frequently walk and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stand and lift/move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close and peripheral vision and the ability to focus.
