Job summary

SouthCoast Health is seeking a Full-Time Float Phlebotomist for our main campus to perform venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling, and data entry in a professional, patient-centered manner.

Responsibilities include following laboratory procedures, maintaining logs, and collaborating with physicians and technologists. A High School diploma, phlebotomy training, and current BLS/CPR are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic safety procedures and universal precautions.
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment correctly.
• Ability to properly collect specimens and follow lab protocols.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and provide care instructions.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures.
• Label specimens and document test requests accurately.
• Conduct laboratory tests on samples and report results.
• Communicate professionally with physicians, patients and staff.
