Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks full-time Flex Houseparents (couples) to live in on-campus student homes and supervise a group of 8–13 students. You will provide care, guidance, supervision, and support, creating a structured, family-like environment that supports academic, emotional, and social development.

The role requires a married couple (two years), both partners 27+, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a safe, smoke-free campus.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Couple must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Proven integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan development and recreation.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
