Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus homes, supervising a group of 8–13 students, guiding their academic, emotional, and social development in a structured, family-like environment.

Initially, couples support various student homes on a nine-on, three-off schedule, then transition to a placed home with same students. Comprehensive benefits and housing are included.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limits: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to be certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (no proselytizing).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff model students.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental/recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
