Job summary

Waco Transit System is hiring Fixed Route Bus Operators to serve the citizens of Waco and nearby areas. You will drive fixed routes safely, courteously, and on time, ensuring passenger comfort and safety throughout the trip.

Requirements include a Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement, and a DOT medical and background check. Prior transit experience is a plus, with two raises planned within the first year.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a licensed driver.
• DOT physical and drug screen required.
• Background check required.
• Experience in passenger transportation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide fixed route bus service to residents of Waco and surrounding communities.
• Operate bus in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.

Job description

Waco Transit System has immediate openings for Fixed Route Bus Operators. This position is responsible for providing fixed route service to the citizens of Waco and surrounding communities in a safe, courteous, and timely manner. Applicants must have a friendly, positive attitude and be willing to provide minimal assistance to passengers when necessary. Salary begins at $18.00 per hour after training is completed and includes two raises within the first year.

Experience in the passenger transportation industry is preferred, but not required. The qualified applicant must pass a D.O.T. physical/drug screen, background check and have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a licensed driver. A Class B CDL license with Passenger Endorsement is required.
