Securitas USA is hiring full-time firefighters with a pay rate of $18.11/hour, equivalent to about $60,270.08 annually, and a sign-on bonus after 90 days. The role covers emergency response, fire suppression, medical aid, and security duties at client sites.

Responsibilities include responding to scenes, scene size-up, rescues, hazmat response, patient care, and logging. Requires NFPA Firefighter I/II, EMT/EMR, and transferable certifications; background check and license required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass a lifetime background check and drug test.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have excellent communication skills and maintain a professional demeanor.
• N.F.P.A. Firefighter I and II certifications required.
• Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Level certifications required.
• National Registry or State of Indiana Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification required.
• Out-of-state certifications must be transferable to Indiana and completed within 90 days of hire.
• Must be able to meet and maintain all applicable state, county, and local certification requirements for EMT or EMR level certification.
• Physical and mental requirements of this position may include seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly; lifting up to 25 pounds periodically.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency scenes including fire, medical, bomb threats, flooding, and other incidents.
• Arrives on scene, performs scene size-up, and relays information to dispatch and supervisor.
• Performs rescue procedures including vehicle and machinery extrication, and high/low-angle rescues.
• Performs fire suppression using apparatus, hydrants, hoses, and extinguishers.
• Responds to hazardous material emergencies and provides spill containment.
• Responds to medical emergencies, assesses and stabilizes patients, and transports to clinic.
• Relays patient care information to medical personnel.
• Administers treatment per protocols at scene or in a response vehicle.
• Performs triage during mass casualty incidents.
• Provides standard security duties and logs/reports.

Job Description

• Responds to emergency scenes including, but not limited to, fire, medical, bomb threats, flooding, sprinkler system discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and numerous other types of incidents.
• Arrives on scene, performs scene size-up, and relays information to the central dispatch center and on-duty supervisor regarding the current situation and any immediate needs.
• Performs rescue procedures including, but not limited to, vehicle extrication, machinery extrication, and high-angle and low-angle rescues.
• Performs fire suppression efforts utilizing fire apparatus, hydrants, hose stations, and portable and wheeled fire extinguishers.
• Responds to hazardous material emergencies and provides spill containment efforts for both small and large releases.
• Responds to medical emergencies, initiates patient assessment and/or stabilization, and prepares and transports patients to the onsite medical clinic.
• Relays patient care information to medical personnel including, but not limited to, patient information, medical history, vital signs, and treatments.
• Administers treatment for injuries and illnesses following established medical protocols and procedures at the emergency scene or in a specialized response vehicle.
• Performs triage duties during mass casualty incidents.
• Provides standard security duties including, but not limited to, unlocking doors, escorting visitors, guests, and team members, patrolling buildings and parking lots, and reporting any irregularities to the central dispatch center and on-duty supervisor.
• Prepares logs and reports as required.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
