Botetourt County is seeking a Full‑Time Firefighter/EMT (BLS) to provide fire suppression, emergency medical care, and related public safety services for residents and visitors. The role may be assigned to different divisions based on departmental needs and include community outreach tasks.

The position requires strong communication, physical fitness, and the ability to work during emergencies as well as in prevention, training, and outreach activities.

Responsabilités

• Performs protective service work involving fire suppression, emergency medical care, specialized rescue, hazardous material mitigation, prevention activities, pre-planning, building inspections, training, physical fitness and other non-emergency support as required.
• All personnel in this position are responsible for EMT essential job functions.
• May perform customer service/community service projects including safety outreach to the elderly, public education and as a community contact for the County’s public safety team.
• May be assigned to various divisions or stations based on departmental needs. Ensures citizens and visitors receive the best possible emergency services.
