The City of Taylor is accepting applications for qualified applicants for the Taylor Fire Department. These are budgeted positions and do not fall under a SAFER grant.

Any paramedic who currently works full-time in another community who is good standing with that community, has all the required fire/paramedic certifications as well as passes the City of Taylor hiring requirements may be eligible for a lateral transfer up to five (5) years in pay only.
The Taylor Fire Department is a fast paced department with almost 10,000 runs per year. The department also handles emergency dispatching. We use the latest fire service innovations including power stretchers and battery operated extrication equipment. All front line vehicles are less than three years old. Each fire station has their own weight rooms. The department is part of specialized teams with Downriver and Western Wayne HazMat and USAR. Due to succession planning, there will be opportunity for promotion in the next five years.
