Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member in the Urban Agriculture department to design courses, foster active student engagement, and assess learning outcomes. The candidate will teach in the Cannabis-focused curriculum and contribute to program development, while supporting diverse learners.

The ideal applicant holds a Master's or higher in agriculture or related life sciences, with at least 1 year cannabis industry experience and knowledge of Illinois cannabis

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in agriculture or related life sciences field.
• At least 1 year experience in the cannabis industry either teaching, developing curriculum or work experience.
• Familiarity with and understanding of Illinois cannabis laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of D2L, preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse group of staff and students required.
• Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population is desired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of the community college.

OLIVE-HARVEY COLLEGE

Olive-Harvey College is currently seeking a full time tenure track faculty to teach in the Urban Agriculture Department. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Life sciences fields include but are not limited to: Animal Science, Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Bioengineering, Botany, Cell Biology, Ecology, Environmental Biology, Environmental Science Field Biology, Genetics, Human Biology, Ichthyology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, MD, Mycology, Ornithology, Plant Physiology, Plant Science & Zoology.
• At least 1 year experience in the cannabis industry either teaching, developing curriculum or work experience
• Familiarity with and understanding of Illinois cannabis laws and regulations
• Knowledge of D2L, preferred.

Salary Range: $58,000-$65,000 annual
Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
