Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services at the Selinsgrove Center is seeking a Plumber 1 to maintain and repair plumbing systems across a 46-building campus. You will apply hands-on skills to install, repair, and service pumps, valves, piping, and fixtures.

This full-time role offers a 37.5-hour work week, day shift 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, no telework, and opportunities to contribute to reliable, safe facilities. A valid driver's license and PA residency are required.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures.
  • Active motor vehicle license required.
  • PA residency requirement and ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Conditional offer requires medical examination and satisfactory criminal history records.

Responsibilities

  • Install, rebuild, and repair pumps, valves, steam traps, generators, mixing valves, circulator pumps, thermostats, and related systems.
  • Install potable, wastewater, and pneumatic piping using copper, iron, PVC, CPVC and other piping.
  • Overhaul and repair housekeeping equipment, dietary equipment, dishwashers, and related systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair sinks, drains, water lines, wastewater lines, urinals and drinking fountains.
  • Assist with trench digging, hydrant work, and asbestos abatement participation.
  • Work from blueprints, estimate labor and materials, monitor supplies, and use power and hand tools.
