Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Driver I (Union) at Manheim to move vehicles through auction lanes and parking areas. You’ll stay active and support a fast-paced team, with a standard union schedule and a pay rate of $15.50 per hour plus shift differential.

The role requires a valid driver's license and a safe driving record, and no prior experience is necessary. Training is provided, and you’ll work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with overtime possible based on needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for movement (inflating tires, jump-starting).
• Communicate vehicle issues to appropriate teams.
• Provide friendly support to customers, dealers, account reps, rental agencies and coworkers.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to safety culture.
• May be required to work overtime based on business needs.

What You’ll Do

You’ll spend your day behind the wheel, helping ensure vehicles are in the right place at the right time. You will:

• Safely drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale days and throughout auction grounds, following all auction driving procedures, traffic laws and defensive driving practices.
• Transport vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises, as well as customer dealerships and business locations, providing a professional and courteous experience.
• Stage, organize and park vehicles in the correct order based on direction from supervisors or team leaders.
• Help locate misplaced vehicles or move inventory as needed.
• Prepare vehicles for movement by performing basic tasks such as inflating tires and jump-starting vehicles.
• Communicate vehicle issues to the appropriate teams.
• Provide helpful, friendly support to customers, dealers, account representatives, rental agencies and coworkers.
• Follow all safety and health procedures and actively contribute to a culture of safety excellence.
• May be required to work overtime based on business needs.

You’re dependable, enjoy staying active and take pride in working as part of a team. You also have the following qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED
• Previous auction experience
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to walk long distances
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

This role may involve frequent exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
