Job description

The Full Time Equine Veterinary Technician position is an ambulatory based position. The EVT is a skilled Veterinary Technician, with a background in equine medical knowledge and experience handling horses. Under the supervision of a DVM, the EVT will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of urgent and routine equine medical events in the clinic and at local farms, care for hospitalized patients, process laboratory testing, and assist with facility maintenance as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent horse handling skills with 5+ years of experience working in a barn (including loading onto trailers) are required.
  • A team player, you enjoy a fast-paced environment and can think critically on your feet.
  • You possess the ability to remain composed in stressful and emotional situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a love for horses.
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets, and cloud-based data recording systems.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must possess a valid MA driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Anticipated Schedule:

  • The first 30-60 days will have a varied schedule for training purposes, then the work schedule will be four days per week with a shared rotation of weekends on-call.
