Job summary

Global Medical Response is hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in Birmingham, AL. This full-time EMT position requires a high school diploma or GED, EMT certification (national or state), CPR/BLS, and a valid driver’s license.

You will respond to both emergency and non-emergency requests, perform patient assessments, and deliver high-quality care while maintaining patient confidentiality. You will work with a team of healthcare and public safety professionals, operate ambulances safely,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• State Driver’s License required.
• National or State EMT certification required.
• CPR/BLS certifications required.
• Driving record in compliance with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessment, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Maintain safe, clean and well-stocked environment for patients.
• Use EMT skills to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures and office equipment.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and traffic laws.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow EMTs.
