Job summary

St. Michael's is hiring a full-time elementary school teacher for the 2026-27 year to join the Archdiocese of Washington community. The teacher will report to the Principal and deliver instruction aligned with Archdiocese standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Current teaching certification in MD, VA, or DC (candidates have 3 years to earn their certification).
Knowledge of child development and supervision.
Experience teaching in an elementary school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Planning: Create lesson plans aligned with Archdiocese standards.
Instruction: Deliver a balanced program with direct and guided instruction.
Classroom Management: Establish procedures and maintain a positive learning environment.
Communication: Maintain grade book, inform parents and administrators, post updates.
Catholic Identity: Foster Catholic beliefs and lead prayer in classroom.
Non-Instructional Duties: Sponsor clubs, attend meetings, and participate in school events.
