The position involves helping with health-related needs, bus routines, field trips, and classroom tasks while collaborating with teachers and staff to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant postsecondary coursework or credentials preferred.
• Ability to be trained in health-related tasks may be required.
• Experience with school-aged children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support students with documented medical needs with activities in the lunchroom and in other school settings.
• Assist students with bus arrival and departure.
• Work together as a team with teacher(s) and other support staff.
• Assist students with self-care needs, which may include personal hygiene and toileting.
• Maintain accurate records monitoring student health and progress.
• Monitor activities to ensure safety of students, classmates and other staff.
• Accompany students on field trips.
• Willingness to be trained in seizure protocol, administering medications, diabetic/asthma/allergy care, and other areas as needed.
• Assist students with classroom activities and assignments as requested by the teacher.
• Escort children to and from various rooms.
• Monitor activities to ensure safety of students, classmates and other staff.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
