Job summary

Horizons for Homeless Children Inc. seeks a full-time Teacher to supervise a classroom of children experiencing homelessness, implementing a developmentally appropriate daily curriculum and collaborating with Supervising Teachers.

The role requires EEC Teacher Certification and 9 months to 1 year (or more) of related experience, with a preferred background in early childhood education. The position is based in Roxbury, MA, with on-site work five days a week and a $54,200–$57,599 starting salary.

Qualifications

• EEC Teacher Certification is required.
• 9 months to 1 year or more of relevant work experience.
• 12 ECE credits minimum preferred.
• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Display knowledge of early childhood development.
• Contribute to design and implementation of an age-appropriate, multi-cultural curriculum.
• Practice positive behavior management techniques.
• Inform parents of curriculum plans and progress.
• Complete children’s progress reports and participate in parent conferences.
• Work with Family Advocates to promote healthy family relationships.
