Hawkeye Area Community Action Program, Inc. (HACAP) is hiring an Early Head Start Assistant Teacher for a full-time, 40-hour schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm in Cedar Rapids, IA.

The role begins with a starting hourly wage of $17.24–$19.81, with a CDA required within the first year and pay increases after CDA attainment. The job includes planning support, classroom supervision in the teacher's absence, and collaboration with HACAP staff to ensure a nurturing early learning

Qualifications

• AA in Early Childhood Education or related field required for target role.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 months of child care experience required.
• Must obtain Child Development Associate (CDA) within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in planning, implementing, and maintaining a nurturing learning environment.
• Lead Head Start activities when the teacher is absent in the classroom.
• Support daily routines, safety, and child development activities.
