Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s UNL Children’s Center is hiring a full-time Children’s Center Teacher. The role supports safety, security and developmental well-being for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, in infant, toddler, or preschool classrooms, often with a co-teacher.

The position offers a structured schedule (7:00am-3:30pm or 9:30am-6:00pm, M-F) and opportunities to apply your early childhood training daily.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent communication skills tailored to children, peers, and parents.
• Must have demonstrated leadership skills to guide a classroom and student staff.
• Practicum experience in a child care environment; education plan requirements may accept relevant experience.
• Practical computer skills including word processing, data entry and email.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in a classroom with a co-teacher.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate practices and emergent curriculum.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, parents and other early childhood professionals.
• Prepare lesson plans and maintain documentation and child portfolios.
