The Learning Experience in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the care, learning, and development of infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children. This full-time role offers a welcoming environment and opportunities for growth.

You will engage children in activities, assist the Lead Teacher, and help maintain a safe, organized classroom while collaborating with families and center staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Childcare, daycare, preschool, nanny, camp, babysitting, or teaching experience preferred.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or training preferred.
• Dependable with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must meet applicable state licensing, background screening, health, and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Engage children in age-appropriate learning, play, and activities.
• Build positive relationships with children.
• Encourage communication, confidence, and social development.
• Help create a positive classroom experience.
• Assist the Lead Teacher with lessons, activities, routines, and transitions.
• Maintain active supervision and support children's safety.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and other age-appropriate care.
• Follow classroom procedures and center policies.
• Help maintain a clean and organized classroom.
• Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and center leadership.
• Support communication with families about children's daily experiences.
