Job summary

Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency seeks a Teacher Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. You will help implement daily activities, maintain classroom safety and cleanliness, and build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

The Assistant Teacher works under the guidance of the Lead Teacher and Childcare Center Manager in a full-time Gallatin, TN setting.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: CDA, AA, or BA/BS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Experience working with young children in a group setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists Lead Teacher with planning and implementing daily activities.
• supervises children during routines, activities, and transitions.
• Maintains a positive, safe, and clean classroom environment.
