Job summary

Saia Inc. is seeking a warehouse/dock associate to sort and handle freight in and out of over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and straight trucks.

You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight, ensuring accuracy and safety in daily operations. The role requires basic qualifications, including a high school diploma or GED, reading and speaking English, and willingness to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Read, write, and understand English to perform shipping tasks and documents.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and related tools in compliance with regulations.
• Operate dock equipment and maintain straps, bars, airbags, and dunnage.
• Load, recoup, rewrap, and stack freight as needed.
• Verify shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading/unloading.
• Follow bill of lading and quality control procedures for timely, cost-efficient shipments.
• Log and report shortages and damages to freight.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
