Job summary

Louisville East Post Acute is seeking a full-time Dietary Aide to join our team in Louisville. Hours include working every other weekend, with duties assigned by shift needs and reporting to the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

Responsibilities include setting up meal trays, operating the dishwasher, preparing nourishments, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. Ability to read procedures and follow recipes is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines within a short period.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
