Job summary

Clarion County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff (Non-Exempt, Full-Time) to safeguard the Courthouse, transport prisoners, and enforce PA laws. This role offers a path for growth with strong benefits and a robust public service environment.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour. County benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, pensions, and paid time off. Requires Act 120 or Act 2 certification, or willingness to obtain them.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some knowledge of law enforcement or related field preferred.
• Current PA Act 120 Certification, Act 2 Sheriff’s Academy certification, or retired PSP within last five years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of the Courthouse and surrounding areas.
• Maintain security checkpoints at the Courthouse.
• Transport and guard prisoners; use restraints when necessary.
• Serve bench warrants, writs, and subpoenas; file reports.
• Conduct background investigations and maintain records.
