Wexford Health is seeking a Dentist to join our team at the Rushville County Jail in Rushville, IL.

Job Responsibilities:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise the dental department.
2. Provide preventative and restorative dental treatment to inmates.
3. Perform and interpret radiographic examinations.
4. Conduct operative dentistry, including repair of caries.
5. Fit and repair prosthetic devices.
6. Supervise staff in dental procedures and maintain accurate records.
7. Refer complex procedures to specialists as needed.
8. Educate inmates on oral hygiene practices.
9. Submit monthly activity reports.
10. Participate in staff development.
11. Develop and update departmental policies.
12. Evaluate dental staff performance.
13. Coordinate outside referrals with the Medical Director.
14. Provide clinical guidance and oversight.
15. Prioritize treatments based on urgency and resources.
16. Assess and document patient conditions.
17. Ensure continuity of care and emergency procedures.
18. Maintain up-to-date licenses and certifications.
19. Be CPR certified and prepared for emergencies.
20. Ensure security of dental instruments and medications.
21. Orient new dental staff.
22. Assist staffing and budget management.
23. Comply with policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements.
24. Participate in quality assurance activities.
25. Maintain confidentiality of records.
26. Support positive changes and work environment.
27. Perform additional duties as assigned.
