Job summary

Cosentino’s Price Chopper is seeking a Deli Cook for a full-time role at #415, 2600 Ensign Hill Drive. The position involves producing high-quality prepared foods, maintaining safety and sanitation, and supporting the Deli team in daily operations.

The candidate should have at least one year of cooking experience in deli or related settings, plus a basic understanding of food safety guidelines. A food handling permit is required within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Minimum of one year of cooking experience in deli, bakery, catering, or banquet operations.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in deli or food service production facility.
• Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation guidelines.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily, weekly, and seasonal menu items with the department manager.
• Maintain portion control in deli production and service.
• Ensure all foods meet safety, health, sanitation, and Cosentino’s standards.
• Enforce quality control of deli products in cases, hot lines and other areas.
• Supervise kitchen team members in an operational, respectful way.
• Foster a positive team atmosphere with cooperation and high morale.
• Train and manage part-time cooks.
• Communicate resources needed for the Deli department clearly to the team.
• Perform inventory checks and verify deliveries against invoices.
• Rotate stock and monitor product dates.
• Answer customer questions accurately and courteously.
• Meet or exceed productivity targets and promote department sales.
• Address customer complaints professionally and involve management when needed.
• Follow Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
• Operate and maintain all deli equipment safely.
• Ensure deli programs, recipes, menus, promotions, and standards are followed.
