Position: Custodian

Location: Cedaredge Elementary School

School Year: 2024-2025

Type: Full Time - 249 days/year, 8 hours/day

Compensation: $17.38/hour + depending on experience

Benefits include health insurance through the School District and retirement benefits through PERA.

Job Responsibilities and Physical Demands

1. Perform cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, carpet shampooing, and floor stripping/sealing/waxing.
2. Clean and dust desks, bookshelves, whiteboards, windows, and other surfaces, including the use of ladders for higher windows.
3. Disinfect drinking fountains, eating areas, sinks, mirrors, and toilets multiple times daily.
4. Set up and take down chairs and tables for school functions and events.
5. Shovel snow and apply ice melt to school entryways and sidewalks.
6. Perform minor repairs such as light fixture maintenance.
7. Ensure all cleaning tasks involve physical activities like lifting (up to 100 lbs), bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
