Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania, is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique role, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of about 8–13 students.

Flex Houseparents follow a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, then transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group. Responsibilities include supervision, managing routines, administering medications, driving

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for married couples (min 2 years).
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive student vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities with students
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
