River Bend Nursing and Rehab in Evansville, IN is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide rehabilitation services to residents at our skilled nursing facility.

The COTA supports therapists by implementing treatment plans and helping residents improve daily living activities, mobility, and independence through individualized interventions. This role is full-time with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program.
• Current certification and licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the practicing state.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to resident-centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services within the COTA scope of practice in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures, and productivity standards.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist with resident evaluations as directed.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist with developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional independence.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and functional tasks to promote independence.
• Provide therapeutic activities and exercises based on individual resident needs and established treatment plans.
• Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress or changes to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
