Job summary

Creative Dining Services is seeking a Full-Time Cook at Royal Park Place Atrium in Zeeland, MI. You will prepare dishes from scratch, ensuring quality and appealing presentation to enhance the dining experience for our seniors.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of cooking experience, a High School diploma or equivalent, and ServSafe Certification preferred. Schedule is 10am–6:30pm, 40 hours weekly with alternating weekends; comprehensive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years cooking experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Ability to cook from scratch and make soups, handle proteins and vegetables; cook to order.

Responsibilities

• Time food production so that all items are ready at service time.
• Use batch cooking techniques to control production.
• Maintain safe food handling and proper labeling/dating.
• Keep production area clean and sanitized.
• Assist management with ordering and inventory.

Schedule:

10am - 6:30 pm. 40 hours a week. Alternating weekends required.

• Drug Screen, fingerprinting and background check are required at this location.

Core Responsibilities:

• Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service and prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
• Utilize safe food handling techniques at all times and store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating
• Maintain production records
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area
• Follow established work rules and regulations
• If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen – unlocking/locking doors & secured areas, and turning on/turning off of all equipment essential to the operation
• Maintain a safe, tidy and well-organized work environment at all times; clean up spills quickly, wear protective gear as needed (ie: slicer glove), and store wares safely
• Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately
• Be proactive in communication; monitor communication posting areas closely
• Assist management personnel in ordering and inventory procedures
• Removal of refuse as needed
• Putting away/Pulling stock as needed

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• ServSafe Certification preferred
• Ability to cook "from scratch" recipes, make soups, cook various proteins and vegetables. Cook to order for substitutions.
