Job summary

The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University seeks a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Instructor (Dental Hygienist) to educate students and provide direct hygiene care in the Faculty Practice Clinic and school clinics.

The role requires a licensed Dental Hygienist with clinical teaching experience, patient-centered communication, and the ability to supervise dental assistants, manage clinic flow, and ensure infection control and confidentiality compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Dental Hygienist with related experience teaching students in a clinical setting.
• Must have, or be eligible for, full licensure as a Dental Hygienist in Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical hygiene care under supervision of a licensed dentist for patients of record.
• Conduct one-to-one teaching with students on instruments used to scale teeth and provide chairside demonstrations.
• Supervise scaling and evaluate student technique; teach patient-centered communication; provide educational assessments.
• Assist in managing clinic flow, keep clinic stocked, maintain equipment, generate reports, and coordinate follow-up visits.
