Job summary

Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC seeks a Regular Full-Time Faculty member in Computer Information Systems (CIS) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The candidate will teach CIS courses, develop curricula, engage students, and provide advising and mentorship to support degree completion.

Responsibilities include using Blackboard for course management, maintaining records, and participating in departmental activities.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• At least 18 graduate credit hours in the assigned teaching discipline, as required by credentialing standards.
• Demonstrated academic or professional expertise in CIS areas such as AI, cybersecurity, data analytics, databases, networking, systems analysis, programming, or cloud computing.
• Previous college-level teaching experience and a commitment to student-centered instruction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned CIS courses in line with approved objectives and standards.
• Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in software, programming, databases, networking, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, and related technologies.
• Contribute to CIS curriculum review to align with outcomes and industry standards.
• Create an inclusive learning environment and provide timely feedback on progress.
• Advise and mentor students on degree progress, internships, certifications, and career opportunities.
• Use Blackboard to post materials, assignments, grades, and announcements.
• Maintain accurate academic records and meet deadlines for attendance and grades.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum, assessment activities, and service responsibilities.
