Job summary

Battlefield Park Healthcare Center in Petersburg, VA is seeking a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehab team. This full-time role focuses on helping residents regain skills and independence through personalized therapy in a compassionate post-acute setting.

You will implement treatment plans under an OT, document progress, collaborate with care staff, and support residents at multiple locations as needed.

Qualifications

• COTA education (associate degree) required.
• Valid State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License or pending license acceptable in VA.

Responsibilities

• Help residents improve quality of life by enhancing motor skills and independence.
• Implement treatment plans under supervision of an Occupational Therapist and educate treatment staff.
• Document rehab activities and coordinate care with the rehab team across locations.

Qualifications/Must Have’s

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) education, obtained in an accredited two-year associate degree program
• Hold a valid or pending State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Helps clients improve their quality of life by helping them compensate for limitations, such as, helping injured workers improve their motor skills and re-enter the labor force, and teaching persons with learning disabilities to prepare meals or to use public transportation and increase their independence Implements treatment plan through direct treatment and collaboration with Occupational Therapist, education of treatment staff and other members of team involved in the treatment plan, as well as family consultation and training. Complies with the documentation requirements of the rehab department and facility under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
