Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, has a PRN opening for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Evergreen Crossing and The L Healthcare Center in Indianapolis. Our in-house therapy team focuses on improving residents’ quality of life through personalized rehabilitation.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans under supervision, coordinating with the Occupational Therapist, and educating staff and families.

Qualifications

• COTA education from an accredited two-year associate degree program.
• Hold a valid or pending State COTA license.

Responsibilities

• Help clients improve quality of life by compensating for limitations and improving motor skills to re-enter the labor force.
• Implement treatment plans under supervision of an Occupational Therapist; educate staff and family as needed.
• Comply with rehab documentation requirements under supervision.

Qualifications/Must Have’s:

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) education, obtained in an accredited two-year associate degree program
• Hold a valid or pending State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Helps clients improve their quality of life by helping them compensate for limitations, such as, helping injured workers improve their motor skills and re-enter the labor force, and teaching persons with learning disabilities to prepare meals or to use public transportation and increase their independence Implements treatment plan through direct treatment and collaboration with Occupational Therapist, education of treatment staff and other members of team involved in the treatment plan, as well as family consultation and training.
• Complies with the documentation requirements of the rehab department and facility under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
