Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab at Mount Vernon Healthcare Center in Alexandria, VA, is seeking a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house therapy team. You will help residents improve independence through targeted therapy under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Qualifications

• COTA education is an accredited two-year associate degree program.
• Hold a valid or pending State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License.

Responsibilities

• Helps clients improve their quality of life by helping them compensate for limitations, such as improving motor skills and re-entering the labor force.
• Implements treatment plan through direct treatment and collaboration with Occupational Therapist, education of treatment staff and other team members involved in the plan, and family consultation and training.
• Complies with the documentation requirements of the rehab department and facility under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
