Job description

Essential Functions:

  1. Customer Service: Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise. Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by walking them through projects when necessary. Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers. Communicates information to customers regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs. Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with the truck driver to call the customer.

In-stock:

  1. Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders.
  2. Pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks (within payload) according to delivery order.
  3. Inspects condition of products (e.g., appliances) before loading for delivery or assisting customer with loading.
  4. Matches items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers.

Clean and Safe Stores:

  1. Ensures that the loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  2. Updates delivery and route status (e.g., on-site, completed) on system (e.g., iPhone) for tracking purposes.
  3. Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery.
  4. Verifies daily vehicle inspections and reports and ensures cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and other equipment (e.g., lift gates).
  5. Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and CDL compliance.
  6. Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks, and communicates promptly to management or Asset Protection.
  7. Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and maintains cleanliness and organization of store and working areas.
  8. Maintains a safe and secure work environment, including conducting safety reviews, noting hazards, and securing doors and gates.
  9. Adheres to safety requirements relevant to job duties, such as safety cables, aisle blockers, tether lines, spotters, and safety devices.
  10. Operates store equipment as needed depending on role and department.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Class A CDL License (required for locations with multi-unit CMV) or Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement (for locations with single-unit CMV).
  • Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
  • Ability to pass MVR screening.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferences:

  • 1 Year experience driving semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school.
  • 6 Months experience performing in-home delivery or retail customer service.
  • 3 Months experience operating a forklift or Moffett onloading/offloading a vehicle.
