Essential Functions:
- Customer Service
- Provides SMART customer service at all times through the execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
- Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
- Listens and responds promptly to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary.
- Demonstrates genuine appreciation to customers.
- Communicates information regarding stock, special orders, features, benefits, applications, and warranties related to Lowe’s programs.
- Contacts customers about delivery or coordinates with drivers to inform customers.
In-stock
- Plans delivery activities, prepares loading tickets, and delivers merchandise on schedule for on-time delivery.
- Pulls merchandise, prepares delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits according to delivery orders.
- Inspects products (e.g., appliances) before loading or assisting customers with loading.
- Verifies invoice items with loaded quantities by checking descriptions, items, and model numbers.
Clean and Safe Stores
- Ensures loads are safe, secure, and compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Updates delivery and route status in the system for tracking purposes.
- Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery.
- Verifies daily vehicle inspections, maintains cleanliness, and reports repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment.
- Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance.
- Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks, reporting promptly to management or Asset Protection.
- Maintains store and work area cleanliness and organization per housekeeping standards.
- Maintains a safe work environment, conducting safety reviews and noting hazards.
- Adheres to safety requirements, including the use of safety equipment and procedures.
- Operates store equipment as needed based on role and department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Class A CDL License required for locations with multi-unit CMV; Class B CDL with air brake endorsement for single-unit CMV.
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
- Ability to pass MVR screening.
- Ability to obtain required sales licensure or registration.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.
Preferences:
- 1 year experience driving semi-trucks or certification from a driving school.
- 6 months experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
- 3 months experience operating a forklift or Moffett for onloading/offloading.
