Job description

Essential Functions:

1. Customer Service
2. Provides SMART customer service at all times through the execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
3. Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
4. Listens and responds promptly to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary.
5. Demonstrates genuine appreciation to customers.
6. Communicates information regarding stock, special orders, features, benefits, applications, and warranties related to Lowe’s programs.
7. Contacts customers about delivery or coordinates with drivers to inform customers.

In-stock

1. Plans delivery activities, prepares loading tickets, and delivers merchandise on schedule for on-time delivery.
2. Pulls merchandise, prepares delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits according to delivery orders.
3. Inspects products (e.g., appliances) before loading or assisting customers with loading.
4. Verifies invoice items with loaded quantities by checking descriptions, items, and model numbers.

Clean and Safe Stores

1. Ensures loads are safe, secure, and compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
2. Updates delivery and route status in the system for tracking purposes.
3. Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery.
4. Verifies daily vehicle inspections, maintains cleanliness, and reports repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment.
5. Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance.
6. Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks, reporting promptly to management or Asset Protection.
7. Maintains store and work area cleanliness and organization per housekeeping standards.
8. Maintains a safe work environment, conducting safety reviews and noting hazards.
9. Adheres to safety requirements, including the use of safety equipment and procedures.
10. Operates store equipment as needed based on role and department.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Class A CDL License required for locations with multi-unit CMV; Class B CDL with air brake endorsement for single-unit CMV.
• Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
• Ability to pass MVR screening.
• Ability to obtain required sales licensure or registration.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferences:

• 1 year experience driving semi-trucks or certification from a driving school.
• 6 months experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
• 3 months experience operating a forklift or Moffett for onloading/offloading.
