Job description

Essential Functions :

Customer Service

• Provides SMART customer service at all times by following Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
• Assists customers by understanding their needs, locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Responds promptly and knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary.
• Shows sincere appreciation to customers.
• Communicates information about stock, special orders, feature benefits, applications, and warranties related to Lowe's programs.
• Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with truck drivers to inform customers.

In-stock

• Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and ensures on-time delivery of orders.
• Prepares merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits.
• Inspects products before loading or assisting customers with loading.
• Verifies invoice items with loaded quantities, descriptions, and model numbers.

Clean and Safe Stores

• Ensures loads are safe, secure, and compliant with DOT regulations.
• Updates delivery and route status in the system for tracking.
• Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery.
• Performs daily vehicle inspections, maintains cleanliness, and reports repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment.
• Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance.
• Detects security risks like shoplifting and reports them promptly.
• Maintains store cleanliness and organization through housekeeping standards.
• Ensures a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews and addressing hazards.
• Follows safety requirements related to job duties, including the use of safety devices and equipment.
• Operates store equipment as needed, such as phones, copiers, CCTV, and specialized tools.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :

• Class A CDL License required for locations with multi-unit CMV (tractor trailer & flatbed).
• Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement required for locations with single-unit CMV (tandem flatbed).
• Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
• Ability to pass MVR screening.
• Ability to obtain necessary sales-related licensure.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferences :

• At least 1 year of experience driving semi-trucks/trailers or certification from a driving school.
• At least 6 months of experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
• At least 3 months of experience operating a forklift or Moffett for loading/unloading.
