Summary

The Resident Care Associate provides for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, respecting their dignity, independence, and individuality. Responsibilities include delivering services as per the approved service plan for each resident.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

The following are representative of the duties performed in this role. This list is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned as needed.

  1. Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers, and the community.
  2. Actively participate in growing community occupancy by positively interacting with potential residents, families, and professionals.
  3. Complete community and State orientation training before starting regular duties.
  4. Assist residents with medications following State Regulations and policies, record keeping, and notifying nurses of self-administered medications.
  5. Engage residents in meaningful interactions and activities, supporting independence in daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, and mobility.
  6. Monitor changes in residents' needs, preferences, and health status; report any changes promptly to the RN or designee.
  7. Assist residents with clothing, laundry, and bedtime routines as per the service plan.
  8. Help keep residents' units clean and orderly.
  9. Respond promptly to emergency calls and resident needs.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and mandatory education as required by State Regulation.
  11. Escort residents to meals and activities as needed.
  12. Document all services provided, including incidents and resident refusals, using the community's tracking system.
  13. Conduct and facilitate programming that offers cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  14. Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Standards: Meets or exceeds NH, MA, CT, and RI State requirements.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in computer use and communication in English, oral and written.
  • Education: Completion of CNA training or equivalent, including CPR and First Aid as mandated by State.
  • Experience: Prior caregiving experience preferred; experience with dementia care is a plus.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Valid license/certification as required by State, with documentation provided.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with office software and data input capabilities.
