Job summary

The 290 Employment Security Commission in Ardmore, OK is hiring for a full-time Employment Services Specialist. The position offers a $40,948 annual salary and a standard 8:00am–5:00pm schedule.

This role is non-exempt and includes a comprehensive state benefits package. Responsibilities include career assessment and vocational counseling, unemployment insurance processing, and collaboration with employers and applicants through EmployOklahoma, with emphasis on veterans and other special-needs

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in employment services or related work
• Equivalent combination of education: 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university for 3 years of experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet usage

Responsibilities

• Manage and promote career assessment and vocational counseling via applicant interviews and qualification evaluation
• Register customers for employment, unemployment services and training via EmployOklahoma
• Establish unemployment insurance claims and interpret benefit provisions
• Communicate with management, employers, applicants, claimants and coworkers; prepare clear reports
• Assist with receptionist duties and participate in staff-required training
