Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for requirements.
• High School Diploma/Equivalent; minimum 1 year related experience.
• Valid Hawaii Driver's license and driving abstract.
• Current DCCA Guard Employee License or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to work independently and rotate schedule, including 24/7 availability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills with KS staff, students, families and public.
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and email; learn/monitor CCTV systems.
• Typing and computer use for detailed incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provides security services for students, staff, and campus facilities including CCTV monitoring, patrols, traffic and parking enforcement, safety inspections and incident recording.
• Responds to emergencies with de-escalation techniques and appropriate action.
• Makes decisions to maintain a safe environment; ensures legal compliance and safety.
• Manages visitor access, records entry/exit of vehicles and people, and monitors access to sacred sites.
• Investigates and documents campus incidents, producing clear written reports.
