Job summary

University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Instructor of Biology. This is a non-tenure-track faculty position focused on teaching introductory biology and health science courses that support USCB’s nursing, public health, and general education curricula.

The successful candidate will teach courses such as Anatomy, Human Physiology, General Physiology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and/or Bacteriology, with a teaching load of 15

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s with concentration (minimum 18 graduate hours).
• Preferred: prior college-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory biology and health science courses that support nursing, public health, and general education curricula.
• Teach courses such as Anatomy, Human Physiology, General Physiology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and/or Bacteriology.
• Prepare to teach at multiple locations (Beaufort, Bluffton, or Hilton Head Island) as needed.

The successful candidate will teach courses such as Anatomy, Human Physiology, General Physiology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and/or Bacteriology, based on departmental needs and the candidate’s qualifications and areas of expertise.

The position carries a teaching load of 15 credit hours per semester (equivalent to five courses). Courses may be offered at any of USCB’s three campuses in Bluffton, Beaufort, or Hilton Head Island, and the successful candidate should be prepared to teach at multiple locations as needed.
