Experience and Qualifications:
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Written and oral proficiency in Spanish. Haitian Creole preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have the ability to solve problems professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to interact with families in a manner that demonstrates respect and dignity.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and be flexible with the timing relating to Title III and parent events.
  • Working knowledge of community agencies.
  • Unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Experience with human service programs.
  • Act 34 Clearance, Act 151 Clearance, FBI Clearance (self-paid).
  • Act 126 and Act 71 Training Certificates.
  • Drug Screening (self-paid).
  • Letter of Interest, Resume and Application through District website.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a language and parental support at the Welcome Center with school enrollment and literacy services.
  • Support the core functions of the Welcome Center.
  • Provide Title III parent sessions/meetings that may include evenings, collect data, create reports, and seek expansion to support our Title III (EL) families throughout the District.
  • Connect families to community-based resources to support our Title III (EL) population.
  • Serve as a liaison between EL families, teachers, and building Administrators to provide EL parent activities.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and assist with English classes with community outreach and technology support for Title III families.
  • Experience with social media, web and video editing, including creating videos, flyers, and marketing materials.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all records and communications.
  • Provide families with relevant School District information.
  • Make home visits.
  • Serve as an interpreter/translator for all Title III events, parent/teacher conferences, and parent meetings.
  • All other duties assigned by the Supervisor of ELD.
