Job summary

AlphaBEST Education is seeking a Full-time Program Director for Glankler Elementary School. The role oversees day-to-day site operations, schedules, staffing, documentation, and curriculum implementation to meet program expectations.

Lead a safe, inclusive environment compliant with licensing, supervise the site team, and coordinate with families, school staff, and AlphaBEST leadership to support student success.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED required.
• 15 college units with specified distribution required.
• Administration/staff relations coursework required (3 units).
• Teaching experience in licensed child care or similar program required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations: schedules, ratios, staffing, documentation.
• Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure program expectations are met.
• Maintain licensing compliance and readiness for inspections.
• Build a safe, inclusive environment aligned with licensing and AlphaBEST standards.
• Supervise and mentor site team; provide coaching and ensure training compliance.
• Represent AlphaBEST professionally at school and community events.

Full-time Program Director

Hiring Bonus: $300

Location(s): Glankler Elementary School

Pay: $26-$27 per hour

Hours: Monday - Friday. Hours are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No weekends!

AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs that are designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day.

For those who have experience supporting students, the Site Director role offers the opportunity to lead a meaningful before and after school program that helps kids learn, grow, and thrive.

Requirements:

Track 1: High School Diploma/GED & 15 Units

• High school graduation or GED.
• Completion of 15 semester (or equivalent quarter) units at an accredited college or university, distributed as follows:
• 3 units in administration or staff relations.
• 12 units covering child/human growth and development, child/family/community, and program/curriculum.
• At least four years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group program.

Track 2: Associate of Arts Degree

• AA degree from an accredited college or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development.
• 3 semester units must be in administration or staff relations.
• At least two years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group program.

Track 3: Bachelor's Degree

• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development.
• 3 semester units must be in administration or staff relations.
• At least one year of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group program.

Track 4: Credentialing Permit

• A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or a Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

In this role, you will:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the site: schedules, ratios, staffing, and documentation
• Oversee/facilitate curriculum implementation and ensure activities meet program expectations
• Build a safe and inclusive environment aligned with licensing requirements and AlphaBEST standards
• Make child safety the top priority at all times
• Maintain licensing compliance, documentation, and readiness for inspections
• Track and manage site resources, attendance, and food program requirements
• Supervise and mentor your site team, providing coaching and feedback and ensuring training requirements are met
• Represent AlphaBEST with professionalism at school and community events
• Build strong relationships with families, school staff, and AlphaBEST leadership to support student success
