Job description

Pay Rate Starting at: Level $18.00/hr. Rates of pay are determined by previous experience and labor contract seniority.

Summary

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. The night crew assistant manager is responsible for the overnight operation of the store. The night crew assistant manager should have full knowledge of product lines and locations within the store, as well as responsibility for receiving, stocking, rotating, cutting, and marking product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding nightly operations, safety, and sanitation.
  2. Adhere to company policies through proper receiving, handling, storing, and stocking of products.
  3. Assist the grocery department in achieving financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization, and minimizing shrink and supply expenses.
  4. Maintain proper shelf conditions regarding pricing, cleaning, straightening, rotating, and facing products.
  5. Follow shelf management guidelines, including plan-o-gram layouts and managing new/discontinued products.
  6. Train, develop, and schedule night crew associates.
  7. File all necessary paperwork for the night crew department.
  8. Help keep the backroom clean and organized by organizing, making bales, stacking pallets, etc.
  9. Direct subordinates in implementing plans and achieving goals.
  10. Take direction from the night crew manager and act in their place when absent.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education and Experience
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
Physical Requirements and Equipment Used
  • Operation of equipment such as baler/compactor, case cutter, pallet jacks, marking gun, computer, walkie stacker, and ladder. Age restrictions apply to certain equipment.
